Billy spent the rest of the morning trying to rationalize everything.

The singing.

The water.

The knocking.

The woman in white.

None of it made sense.

Eventually he walked outside to clear his head.

And that’s when he noticed the snowmen.

They weren’t where they had been the day before.

Every single one had changed position.

Some stood closer to the cabin.

Others had moved toward the tree line.

A few now appeared to be facing directly toward the front door.

Billy stared at them for a long time.

Trying to convince himself there was a reasonable explanation.

Maybe the snowfall had altered their appearance.

Maybe he remembered their positions incorrectly.

Maybe his imagination was getting the better of him.

But according to the story, deep down he knew something wasn’t right.

The snowmen had moved.

And if they had moved once…

there was no way of knowing where they would be the following night.

The story never explains what Billy encountered.

Some versions call them Snowwalkers.

Others insist they are something much older.

But nearly every version ends with the same warning:

If you’re ever alone in a winter cabin and you notice snowmen appearing where they shouldn’t be…

don’t wait around to see whether they move.
