Part 1 — The Frozen Lake

According to a story shared online, two friends named David and Alex decided to spend a weekend ice fishing in a remote stretch of the North Woods.

The area was known for its vast forests, brutal winters, and a massive lake that seemed to disappear into the horizon.

Local legends surrounded the region.

Some Native American traditions reportedly considered parts of the area sacred ground, and many longtime residents avoided venturing too deep into the woods after dark.

David never paid much attention to those stories.

Neither did Alex.

They came for the fishing.

Nothing more.

The first part of the trip went exactly as planned.

The weather was cold but manageable.

The lake was frozen solid.

And the isolation felt peaceful rather than threatening.

As daylight faded, however, the sky began changing.

Dark clouds rolled across the horizon.

The wind strengthened.

Temperatures dropped rapidly.

By evening, snow was falling so heavily that visibility began disappearing altogether.

What started as a winter storm quickly became something much worse.

Within an hour, the forest had become a white wall of blowing snow.

David and Alex could barely see each other.

The wind howled through the trees like something alive.

And according to the story, that was when everything began going wrong.

Because sometime during the chaos of the storm, David and Alex became separated.

At first, David assumed he would find his friend quickly.

But with every passing minute, the snow grew thicker.

The darkness deeper.

And the woods more disorienting.

Soon, he couldn’t see the lake.

He couldn’t see the campsite.

And he couldn’t see Alex.

For the first time that night, he realized he was completely alone.
