Part 2 — The Object That Wasn’t Supposed to Turn
(Part 1) ➡️ https://storiesworld.us/archives/9867
The theory becomes much stranger in its second stage.
According to the narrator, discussions surrounding the object focused on more than its size and speed.
Some people allegedly claimed that its movement appeared unusual.
Not impossible.
Just unusual enough to attract attention.
According to the theory, the object may have altered its trajectory as it entered the solar system.
That detail transformed the conversation.
Because natural objects don’t make decisions.
They don’t choose destinations.
They simply follow the laws of physics.

If an object appeared to maneuver, even slightly, the implications would be enormous.
Suddenly the discussion would no longer be about astronomy.
It would become a question of intelligence.
Who built it?
Where did it come from?
And why was it here?
According to the narrator, some online discussions went even further.
They suggested that if an advanced civilization wanted to explore other star systems, sending living beings might be impractical.
The distances between stars are simply too large.
Instead, they could send probes.
Machines.
Autonomous systems capable of traveling for thousands or even millions of years.
Such probes wouldn’t require food.
They wouldn’t age.
They wouldn’t become impatient.
They would simply continue their mission until they arrived.
This idea isn’t unique to conspiracy theories.
Even human scientists have discussed similar concepts when imagining how advanced civilizations might explore the galaxy.
The narrator, however, takes the theory in a darker direction.
If something intelligent entered our solar system, how could we know its intentions?
An explorer and an invader might appear identical from a distance.
Both would arrive from elsewhere.
Both would be unknown.
And both would force humanity to confront questions it has never faced before.
For the narrator, however, the object itself wasn’t the most disturbing part of the story.
The most disturbing part was a memory.
One he hadn’t thought about in years.
